Where can I redeem my college course credits for that amazing class? I read it twice. Absorbed about 75% so I saved it to study. Thank you so much for the valuable information. I am at that stage of publishing where it will become vital to know these things.

I did that 3 short stories separately. I got $1.30 in March. That is all I got. I did it because I published under a pen name for the first one and my actual name on other 2. It was learning process with a chapter index in the front. It was so traumatic that I don't want to do for a while. I even have an author page. That helped a lot. Sacrcasm. Now Substack screwed up and everything is free. I don't know how to fix it. Medium barely pays me. So I just publish hoping someone will notice me but just for my own sanity. Works out well. I knew publishing was hard in the beginning. My dream was to be an editor and I kind of achieved that in public service. Things go full circlee. Life of an English major.

Great tips for anyone self-publishing on Amazon KDP, especially for the first time.

Your stressing the importance of reader reviews during the first 30 days of launch was especially helpful to me. Thank you!

Thank you, all very helpful!

It occurs to me that you might know the answer to this: is it true that royalties on Canadian sales are nevertheless paid by Amazon's US unit? I've seen it implied, and if true, it would save a lot of bother on tax reporting.

You get one US tax document anyway but you can download full royalties report with countries and currencies and its up to you to fill it correctly with your home country. I had to build an app for that, to be compliant with my tax requirements :)

They're crooks. They take more in royalities then the author gets in most cases. Maybe publish 1 item through here to try to make a name.. Otherwise 30% lost in tax error wah. You get that back fixing the mistake. Signing away 70% on royalities Amazon, kdp all these can go fk.. And people still too stupid to NOT DO BUSINESS with these predator companies.
